I guess I really am a Southern boy.

Thank you Marvel, for making a truly great character look like ass. This is the new Captain America that'll debut soon. He gets to be a douchebag with a gun and knife. The worst part is Alex Ross was part of the design team. How can somebody so talented put together something so poopy? Hopefully the Punisher will shoot this guy soon and put him out of our collective misery.
Well, if none of you have seen this yet, follow the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyvrqcxN IFs or go to Youtube and searc for Police Taser UCLA student. Talk about some police brutality. I hope the kid sues them and crucifies the police department. Abuse of power indeed. Also, on www.applegeeks.com, there is a downloadable version of the police report. History is writeen by the victors.
Bfore I get back into the groove and do a real update, let me say a quick happy birthday to Will J out in California. Take care and have a shot for me.

Well, As usual, its been a long while since I last updated, so here's a quick pic from the big day, last weekend. We're supposed to be getting out photos from the photographer at the end of the coming week, so when we get them, i guess I'll go into scan mode. The wedding was nice like it should be, but with all the hassle and stress, Jennifer and I were both wishing we had chosen to go to Vegas and get it done simply.
Okay, like I usually say, its been a long time since I've updated. This semester has been crazy busy, and is only now slowing down. The only thing that made it easier is my dropping my Advanced Calc class. What a friggin' headache. It's basically a course to teach you rigorous definitions about how Calculus 1 and 2 work. The only thing we really did in class was proofs. Lots of one to two page proofs over stuff that seems like common sense, but requires an act of God to prove. So long until next Spring, since I have to have it to graduate. Work is there, with some of the more stupid people finding ways to not get fired. Also, let me ask ya'll this? Is it too much to ask that for one week I have everybody show up to work. Of the four people I'm in charge of, I can say without a doubt that there hasn't been one whole week since maybe the first of January where everybody came to work. And to make it better, I have my supervisor breathing down my neck wondering why I stay behind. I wonder?
On the fun front, I'm partially sidelined right now. I overextended myself to begin with, with a mens and coed softball and soccer teams. Four teams of fun, but now enough hours in the day. The bad part is three weeks ago, during a softball game, I did something to my right knee while trying to cover third base, since the girls who were there that day couldn't have stopped a wiffle ball if you hit it at them, and I play first base. I think I just popped it out of place, and it popped back in, so hopefully no ligament tears. After two weeks, I was feeling better, but found out something nifty. Last thursday we had softball practice and I went as usual. I was able to run and field the ball pretty decently. Then I went up to hit, since I've had the itch for the last couple weeks to knock a few out. Get my pitch, swing hard, and feel my knee pop again from the twist. Welcome to me hobbling again. It gets better everyday, and I was able to hit pretty decently last night at practice, so hopefully I'll be good to go in another week or so.
In other news, the wedding is slowly coming together. This weekend Jennifer and I picked out tux styles, so all I need to do is go get the boys together and get fitted. Hopefully one of these weekends, we'll get the invitations together and mailed. On the side of bad news, it looks like A-kon isn't happening this year. I really would like to go, but with wedding and summer school, it'll be rough to get everything together. Best case scenario now is if I get a wild hair up my tail end, I might come down for Saturday on a suicide trip, but then again Jennifer told me the other day about the NIN concert in Dallas the week before, so I'm pretty sure we'll be going to that. Two weekends of driving to Dallas sounds like a bit of a tall order for me, especially with stupid gas prices. My heart goes out for you folks in places like Dallas where you have to fill up every couple days. I'm mad enough at filling up every week.

The problem with LJ: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.
Then, as you like, post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

Well, just recently got home from soccer practice with my friends. Besides our regular team, we're looking at playing coed also with some of the guys we got now, and some ladies my friends know. For co-ed, it looks like I'll be playing goalie, and got a little extra practice in tonight. From about 5-8 feet away, my friend bobby blasted one at me in the chest. Here's a pic about two hours after it happened.

The bruising was a lot more defined when it happened. Rule two for me being goalie, no tucking the cross in my shirt like usual. Rule one of course is wear your cup. That should be self-explanatory.

"Intellectually" Intelligent You're 'Intellectually Intelligent.' That pretty much means that you're good with theoretical ideas and concepts - but this comes to you naturally. More or less, you're a natural brainiac. Good for you. 20% theoretical intelligence 60% natural intelligence |

Quick little thing for everybody, Some of you might have seen this, but here's a lovely little article for everybody. Male chauvanists, unite!!

P.S. I didn't mark on this, that's how the file just is.
Also, if anybody wants a nifty t-shirt, a great site to check out is www.threadless.com . Lots of nifty ideas since the shirts are all designed by regular people. If all of you already know of this place, well sue me, I'm slow like that. :)

Jennifer an I just got back from WTAMU to go see Henry Rollins on his spoken word tour. Excellent show, and we got pics with the man afterwrads. I have a gay, confused look on me, but this is still awesome:

I've got some other pics to upload of my nephews and such, but maybe tomorrow.
P.S. He's actually not too tall, he's doing some tiptoe action beside me. That doesn't take away from the nifty factor.

Quick sports update:
My Jaguars lost tonight to the dang Colts, but at least it was a tight game. Sorry to all you fantasy football folks out there with Peyton Manning. He didn't really cash out tonight.

Wow, I bet ya'll think I must have fallen off the face of the earth. Well, if any ex-girlfriends have found my journal and are reading it, sorry, I'm still here. School is still in effect, and its another fun math filled semester. Even though work is a major pain in my tail end, I still feel pretty lucky that they work with my school schedule. I still think its fun that an old boy like me iis actually in charge of as much as I am. Heck, I mentioned it to my girlfriend when we were down at A-kon about it, seeing as I'm the shipping manager for a nationwide company (we service New York, Seattle, Houston, and a whole lot of other places) and I'm walking around in a Gwar tshirt, old shorts and soocer sandals at an anime convention. Thank God I haven;t got all old and crotchety yet.
Back to the subject at hand, liefe is getting a little more relaxing now that softball is pretty much over. Both teams, men and mixed, are ending with losing records, but we have been showing a lot of improvement. Here's even a pic of us after our first mixed win:

I never knew I was such a big boy, I dwarf way too many of these people. On the other hand, in soccer we're still winless. We're not that bad, but we're not in shape for it, and with a low roster (7-8 people to a game, while we have six on the field at a time), leaves up with few subs, and honestly, none of us are in soccer shape. Our buddy Edd plays in the goal, and he tries, but its hard for a nearly 60 yr old to jump around like you need. Maybe sometime in the future well get that first win. For the time being, I'd just be happy if we had a game where the other team wouldn't score more than ten points on us. It's kind of embarassing. Who knows, maybe I'll take a turn in the box one of these nights.
On another subject, I cannot describe how much I love the movie Lost in Translation. I saw it when it came out, and I own the DVD, but anytime its on on cable, I get stuck watching it. Just a beautiful movie. Also, I have been messing around with my computer a bit, here and there with Photoshop and Illustrator, but in the last few days, I've given Garage Band another try. Even with my musically challenged self, its been a lot of fun just messing around, and I've been shortening some of the songs I have ripped on my computer. I enjoy some songs immensely, and I like he hidden tracks , too, but I don't like having the five to ten minute interval of dead air. Call me crazy.
That's about it, except for one thing: Ace, I checked my email Saturday morning and saw your PM notification. Sorry I didn;t catch it when I was online Thursday night. I'll catch up with you laters.

Here's a lovely billboard they just put up on the offramp to downtown. All of you special folks in big cities may have seen this before, but I thought it was precious. Nothing tells me to believe in a cause seriously like Pamela Anderson having her boobs hanging out. Silly liberals, Trix are for kids. I haven't gone to the website yet, so I can't tell you whats on it.
In other news, its been busy around here this summer. For some dumb reason, I;ve signed up for any sport possible. The list so far is flag football, indoor soccer, and softball, mens-only and mixed. Flag football for us just got over with last weekend, ending our worst season ever. This is due to the fact that we never knew who was going to make it for the games. My buddy Justin, our quarterback made it to three of ten games his year. So screwed is screwed there. Indoor soccer is fun, just lots and lots and lots of running. Did I say there was lots of running yet? We have fun, but we're totally outclassed out there. The only thing we have close to talent on our team is my buddy John who coaches soccer at my old high school, and my buddy Bobby who played semi-pro about a decade ago or so when he was in the army. Look at it this way, I'm up in the tp three on the athlete scale for our team, and I'm not really socccer fit. Softball is fun, but a trainwreck. On our mixed team, 90% of the girls and a few of the guys have never played. Our positions change about every game, so nobody is really getting gelled in their spots. Well, its for fun, and the company's fitting the bill, so its not bad. Instead its fun to get outside and drink some beers in between games. Fun all around.
In other news, we are under the one year mark until the marriage day. Cheer or cry for me at your own wishes. :)

Hey ya'll, I've got an update coming, I've just been running like a madman for various reasons. Don't think I'm dead, I'm still out there. Just give me a day or so to get everything cleared up.
Damn, I just saw on MSN that Luther Vandross died today. Its getting harder and harder for a guy to find a good romantic singer. First Barry White, and now Luther (granted, its skinny Luther, not fat Luther, but he's still him). Like Chris Rock said a year or two ago, Ruben Studdard better watch himself, especially since he's named after a sandwich.

I had fun doing this for somebody else, so try it if you want.
1. What's the first word that comes to mind when you think of me?
2. Go to http://images.google.com/ and search for that word.
3. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results (don't tell me the word).
4. Put this in your own blog so that I can do the same.
HOepfully pics will come up this weekend, I hate computer stuff, like the dang router!!!!

A-kon done, Josef relaxing. I'll get a real update with pics up soon, whenever I get this dang router to work, so's I can have me's some internet like those white folks.
Seriously, A-kon was loads of fun, probably the best one for me so far (possibly because I actually had my own car at this one, so Jennifer and I could leave when we wanted, to where we wanted to go). Like I said, I have some pics to post later.
